There’s no more trouble in Paradise!
Mitch Marner landed in the province yesterday and is excited to get back on the ice with the Toronto Maple Leafs after signing a 6-year, near $11-million contract Friday night.
The team’s leading point scorer over the last two seasons spoke to reporters for the first time since signing the deal Saturday afternoon at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
Marner says it was important to him that he didn’t miss much of training camp.
He says in the last 48-hours he spoke with General Manager, Kyle Dubas, a lot and made sure he wouldn’t miss much of camp and would be ready for the team’s first game. Marner says it’s great to have it over with and he’s happy to be here.

The 22-year-old winger says he didn’t pay much attention to social media over the course of the negotiations.
He says social media is a big thing nowadays that can impact some people, but he tried to stay away and not look at it while reaching a deal.
Marner will hit the ice for his first practice with his teammates on this morning at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
