A man driving late at night at almost twice the speed limit and with open liquor at his side has been nabbed by RCMP.
Police spotted the vehicle on the TCH near the Witless Bay Line on the weekend. It was just before 11:30 Saturday night when they clocked the vehicle at 185 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
The 22-year-old from South River was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He didn’t violate the Criminal Code of Canada markers but was over the provincial limit.
RCMP Avalon East seized his vehicle for seven days and his driver’s licence for seven days.
