There was a frightening carjacking in Clarenville this afternoon.
Just before noon, a 65-year-old woman was assaulted by an unknown man who tried to take her purse. RCMP Clarenville detachment say that he didn’t get the purse, but he got into the woman’s vehicle and drove off with it.
The man is described as having a tattoo on the left side of his neck. He was wearing a black leather jacket.
The vehicle is a four-door gold-coloured 2006 Ford Focus with licence plate JHR 486.
