Toronto’s lineup for tonight’s NHL exhibition game is out and star Auston Matthews will not be playing.

Mitch Marner will get some ice time as will Tyson Barrie, Kasperi Kaspanen, newly-acquired and former Senator Jason Spezza, John Tavares and goaltender Frederik Andersen.

The first wave of cuts to the pre-season roster came yesterday. The AHL Marlies do not select their final roster until the Leafs set theirs, and the Newfoundland Growlers have to wait until the Marlies go through the selection process before setting their roster.

The Ottawa Senators, meanwhile, are going with the theme “The Kids are Alright” this year as they continue a rebuild which saw many of their stalwarts, including Mark Stone, shipped off.
