A new poll shows the wind is still at the back of the NDP following a provincial election which saw them send three members to the House of Assembly.

The poll, by Narrative Research, shows strong gains for the NDP but a sharp drop for the PC Party.

The governing Liberals are maintaining their lead with 42 per cent support (down slightly from 46 per cent last winter and 45 per cent last spring.) However, support for the PC’s dropped by 10 points this quarter down to 32.

The NDP now sits at 23 per cent, a 16-point gain over the past three months .As for leadership, support for Coffin has risen by nine points over the past three months.

Twenty-seven per cent of voters in the province are undecided and five per cent do not plan on voting in the next provincial election.

Most of the polling was done in August and results are accurate to within 3.5 percentage points 95 times out of 100.
