Police in Bonavista Bay North are on the hunt for a midnight home invader who arms himself with a shotgun and dons gloves, a bandanna, a helmet and goggles to conceal his identity.

The incident happened at a home in Centreville just before midnight Tuesday.

The unknown man, dressed in black, fired off two shots inside the home, stole some property, then fled.

RCMP officers patrolled the area but could not find the intruder.

At this point, police say the incident does not appear to be random in nature and they do not believe the public to be at risk.
