Liberal Candidate Nick Whalen, says there was quite a panic among the team when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s brownface scandal first came to light.
He says the initial thought that flashed in his mind was if this would lead to Trudeau resigning, followed by concerns over what the apology was going to be and whether or not the allegation was real.
It became very real after a picture surfaced; Whalen says he was disappointed that the photos kept coming.
Fred Hutton on the VOCM Morning Show asked Whalen if it’s changed his opinion of Trudeau.

He says it certainly puts a human face on someone that’s been on a pedestal for quite some time. In a way you see the side that he was growing up in the 80s and 90s like a lot of people making the same types mistakes that a lot of people made.
Whalen says he’s still really proud of what Trudeau has achieved for this province and that his apology was pitch perfect in his opinion.
