A moose vehicle collision can happen in a split second.
A video posted to Facebook Sunday shows a first-person view of a moose crash last night, on the TCH just past the Foxtrap weigh scales.
The video shows an oncoming truck flash its high beams in warning just seconds before a pair of moose slip out of the shadows. You can’t see the second moose until the car is already hitting it.
Jason Spurrell posted the video. He and his partner were miraculously uninjured in the crash. He says witnesses told him the moose flew up into the air over the car, and came to rest a good hundred feet from where they stopped.
Spurrell says he’ll never forget the sound of the impact, or the feel of the airbag striking his face.
