Four fishermen were rescued early this morning after being forced to abandon their vessel off the province’s south coast.
Officials were called out around 1:27 this morning when the Lawn Bay Pride started taking on water about 44 nautical miles south southeast of the French Islands of St. Pierre et Miquelon.
SAR techs from the 103 Rescue Squadron in Gander and the 413 in Greenwood, Nova Scotia arrived on the scene.

Adding to the difficulty in the rescue was the loss of communications. The men were found with the help of an emergency position radio beacon.
