Almost 700 runners converged on the capital city yesterday for North America’s longest running marathon.
Huffin’ Puffin Marathon organizing committee member David Cooper says runners from all over the world turned out to participate in the 60-year-old event.
Cooper says there were groups from Norway and Portugal entered in this year’s race. He explains that some marathoners like to run a race in every U.S. state, and province across Canada.
VOCM Cares was also there accepting donations of gently used or new coats, hats and mittens for this year’s Coats for Kids campaign.
Look for this VOCM Cares Foundation sign outside of the tent at the finish line today in Bowring Park to drop off your donations of gently used or new kids winter items for the Coats for Kids Campaign, until 2PM pic.twitter.com/lpHb4cx7wH
