You could call it a “one-carrot” engagement ring.
Johnny Neville of Pinchgut Lake popped the question to his long-time partner DeeJay Squires in a way that took a lot of care and planning.
Squires pulled a carrot from a pot while preparing dinner only to find an engagement ring encircling the vegetable.
That’s when Johnny dropped on one knee and asked her to marry him.
As for how Neville managed to get a carrot to grow through a ring, he says it took some planning and a little luck.
He put the ring in a five-gallon bucket filled with soil, drove a pencil down inside the ring, planted the seed and then gingerly filled the hole with loose soil hoping the carrot would grow straight and through the path he set.
She said yes, and their social media post has since gone viral.
