Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie says the Earth is at a “tipping point” when it comes to climate change, and he’s putting together a committee to develop an action plan to address the global problem.
The committee, which will be chaired by Dr. Sean McGrath will report to Crosbie in the spring of 2020.
McGrath is a professor of philosophy at Memorial University who also founded and co-chairs “For a New Earth” a not-for-profit founded to raise awareness of ecological issues.
Crosbie says everyone has a duty to take climate change action seriously, and his party’s plan will be “robust and credible”. He says we all have a collective moral duty to take action.
PC MHA for Torngat Mountains, Lela Evans will act as the committee’s caucus liaison.
