The Liberals now sit at 35 per cent support. That’s up three points over the last poll and is the first lead for the Liberals since May.
The Conservatives have dropped one point to 33 per cent support, the NDP and Greens remain steady at 15 and 10 per cent respectively, followed by the Bloc Québécois at five per cent and the People’s Party of Canada at two per cent.
Regionally, Abacus polls show the Liberals have a 16-point lead in Atlantic Canada, a 17-point lead in Quebec, a seven-point lead in Ontario and BC, but trail by a wide margin in the Prairies. The Liberals lead among those aged 18 to 29 and by seven points among those aged 30 to 44. The Liberals and Conservatives are tied among voters aged 45 to 59 and lead by 11 points among those aged 60 and over.
The survey was conducted online with 1,975 Canadians aged 18 and over from September 23 to the 26. The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is plus or minus 2.3 per cent 19 times out of 20.
