The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador says the overwhelming desire for climate action comes as no surprise to him.
Dwight Ball received about 1,400 emails to his inbox yesterday after organizers made the plea for those at the Fridays for Future Rally to contact him.
Ball says the protesters have made what government needs to do very clear. They need to make decisions which protect people.

Ball says this province can do a lot to help other jurisdictions reduce their carbon footprint as well as our own.
He points to banning plastic bags, and being in a position to help provinces like New Brunswick and Nova Scotia reduce their reliance on coal as examples.
