Vaping among youth is a growing concern to the point where it is now incorporated into a program designed to educate students in secondary school about the dangers making bad choices.
RCMP and RNC officers in this province are being trained over the next week for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. The 27 officers are being trained in many aspects of school life, including the use of vaping products.
RCMP Constable Sarah Bass, an officer with the Whitbourne detachment, is in her first round of the D.A.R.E. training program. She is enthusiastic. She sees vaping a lot and is eager to put her new training skills to use.
