The owner of two pet stores in metro which were hit by thieves who were hellbent on stealing dog bones is still at a loss to understand the rationale.
Pet Zone on Kenmount Road has shared surveillance images of the two suspects – a man and a woman. The store alleges two people stole hundreds of dollars worth of Pizzles, a dog treat also known as “bull penises”.
Mark Winsor, who owns both the Kenmount Road Pet Zone and Mount Pearl Critters N Things outlets, says the items retail for about $20 each and that the pair grabbed hundreds of dollars worth.
Winsor told the VOCM Early Drive with Claudette Barnes yesterday afternoon that this is a first for him. He doesn’t know if there’s a black market for the Pizzles or whether the two just really love their dogs.
