The Public Utilities Board has provided more detail on the rate mitigation hearings related to Muskrat Falls which start tomorrow.
The hearings, which will go for a couple of weeks, are open to the public but will not be live streamed.
The board’s two consultants on rate mitigation – Liberty and Synapse – are first up with Nalcor CEO Stan Marshall set to appear on Tuesday.
Without mitigation, the cost of electricity would nearly double from its current rate which would be triple the rate we were paying about ten years ago. Anyone who is interested may file written comments at any time up to the end of day Friday, Oct. 25.
The board has to deliver its report by the end of January.
Presentation Schedule:
- October 3-4, 2019 – The Liberty Consulting Group (Retained by the Board)
