The Nunatisiavut Government has changed the name of one of its government departments to reflect a renewed emphasis on promoting, protecting and revitalizing Inuktitut.
The Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism has been renamed Language, Culture and Tourism.
Minister Jim Lyall says the Nunatsiavut Government has put a lot of effort into their language over the last few years, and the new name reflects their commitment in finding ways to ensure that it flourishes.
