Two people believed responsible for an unusual theft at a pet store in the capital city have been arrested following an investigation into a stolen vehicle.
Yesterday afternoon, police found what they suspected to be a stolen vehicle parked at Mount Pearl Square. Officers took the two occupants into custody while they looked into the source of the car.
The vehicle—it turns out—did not belong to them, and had a stolen licence plate attached.
The man and woman were also identified as those allegedly responsible for a theft of pizzles—or bull penises—from Pet Zone on Kenmount Road.
On top of that, officers found numerous credit cards and other stolen licence plates in their possession.
As result, the 26-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
Both were held for a court appearance.
