A woman was charged in a series of robberies last night after she was stopped in the act at a centre-city convenience store.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. police were called to Walsh’s Convenience on St. Clare Avenue after a suspected armed robber was locked inside the store by staff.
Witness reports from the scene indicate a male and female were conversing outside the store before the 36-year-old female went inside, wearing a disguise, in an attempted robbery. The door was then locked by staff with the woman still inside. RNC officers arrived shortly.
Charges of robbery with violence were laid, but she also received charges in two separate robberies taking place in July and August. There were no charges laid against the man.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
