“I Teach for a Better World” is the theme of World Teachers’ Day, being marked today.
NLTA President Deam Ingram says they want to “shine a spotlight” on the power the profession holds and recognize that teachers are the core of public education.
The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization designated October 5th as World Teachers’ Day in 1994.
The date coincides with the anniversary of the adoption in 1996 of the recommendations concerning the Status of Teachers.
