The Newfoundland Growlers’ preseason got off to a great start last night with a victory over the Brampton Beast.
The Growlers hit the ground running with four unanswered goals in the first two periods, scored by Todd Skirving, Riley Woods, Brady Ferguson and St. John’s native Marcus Power.
The Beast bounced back in the third putting two goals on the board. However it was an empty netter from Scott Pooley that sealed the deal for the Growlers with a final score of 5-2.
The Growlers kick off the regular season this coming Friday against the Reading Royals at Mile One.
