Team Broken Earth has cancelled its upcoming mission in Haiti due to ongoing political duress and protests.
Dr. Andrew Furey, the President and CEO of Team Broken Earth, says that even on their previous missions, tensions could be felt amongst Haitians as they sought out lower rates of inflation and easier access to gas and electricity. Now, the people of Haiti have taken to the streets in protest of the current government.
They felt it was just too unsafe to proceed with teams in October as Haiti felt like a powder keg.

Furey says they’ve cancelled missions before for the safety of volunteers, but the decision is never easy.
