A portion of Waterford Bridge Road was closed Monday afternoon after a pickup truck left the road, colliding with a utility pole.
Emergency crews responded to the busy route at around 2 p.m. RNC halted traffic as the driver of the truck was brought to hospital with unknown injuries.
The truck appears to have lost a tire after striking a utility pole, then slamming into a wrought-iron fence on a nearby property, which was under construction.
Traffic was diverted around the area as Newfoundland Power crews worked to repair the pole.
