A 25-year-old man from Gander Bay, already in trouble with the law, has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate incidents in Gander this week.
Gander RCMP were already investigating the theft of a customer courtesy shuttle belonging to Gander Hyundai, stolen from the lot sometime overnight Monday when they received a report of a robbery at Needs Convenience on Elizabeth Drive Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, a municipal enforcement officer in Grand Falls-Windsor contacted RCMP for assistance after pulling over the stolen vehicle on Hardy Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor. 25-year-old Carson Coates of Main Point-Davidsville, in Gander Bay was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
Coates had previously appeared in court in connection to a robbery at Subway in Gander on September 29th, he was released October 1st on recognizance on a number of conditions.
He’s now facing additional charges in connection with the robbery at Needs and multiple breaches of his recognizance. He’s been remanded to custody pending his next court appearance October 28th.
