Police across the province are ramping up their highway enforcement as folks hit the road for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Expect to see vehicle checkpoints and increased enforcement from both RNC and RCMP as they crack down on traffic violations under the banner of ‘Operation Impact.’
The operation begins today and runs until Tuesday. However, Cst. Cadigan says it’s about building better habits throughout the whole year. While the operation may only last a few days, Cadigan says they are attempting to curb problematic behaviour, and get people to keep safety in mind on a daily basis.
Police are taking a zero-tolerance approach towards drivers who ignore their responsibilities when getting behind the wheel.
Cadigan says the goal is to cause positive change, as safety is everyone’s responsibility.
