Several people were sent to hospital following a propane leak at Coastal Outdoors on Topsail Road this morning.

St. John’s Regional Fire Department rushed to the scene and cleared the building. Occupational Health & Safety was then called in. Propane cylinders at the facility were assessed by the owners.

The building was off limits for some time as crews took time to clear the air.

At least six people were sent to hospital for observation.
