International Credit Union Day is being celebrated throughout the province today.
One in three Canadians and some 20,000 families and businesses are served by 12 Credit Unions in this province.
COO with the Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union, Glen Bolger says Credit Unions offer much of the same products as banks, the difference is they’re owned by their members.
That means that the staff are serving owners, while the money stays in Newfoundland and Labrador.
