It was a long time coming, but the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre and Park is officially open.
A group of preschoolers kicked off the event, welcoming everyone to the grand opening of the brand new, $10-million dollar community centre.

The facility includes a full-size gymnasium, multi-purpose room, kitchen, playground, splash pad, dog park, skate park, walking trail and outdoor basketball courts.
Funding for the facility was cost-shared equally between the city and the provincial government.
The skate park is in memorial of Justin Tobin, who lost his battle with cancer before the skate park was complete.
A memorial is built into the park to honour Justin, who along with a group of friends and fellow-skateboarders helped design the skate park.
The city purchased the land from Bristol Development for $800,000 and with that, 24-acres of wetlands and open green space was gifted to the city.
Mayor Danny Breen says the facility helps to promote healthy and active living for residents, and has something for everyone.
