Investigators are looking into two early morning vehicle fires in the metro region.
RNC and fire crews from Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s were called to a structure fire on Thorburn Road shortly before 4 a.m.
They arrived on scene to find a travel trailer fully engulfed in flames on a vacant piece of property. That fire was quickly cut down.
Then at around 4:30, police were called to a vehicle fire in the west end of St. John’s.
Police say a small fire inside the vehicle was snuffed. Officials then impounded the car for further examination.
Investigations have been launched into the cause of both fires.
