A Kelly Cup champion with the Newfoundland Growlers last season is making his way back to the rock.
The Toronto Marlies of the AHL assigned defenceman Alex Gudbranson to the Growlers.
The 25-year-old from Ontario has yet to play a game this season after sustaining an injury during the Toronto Maple Leafs camp in Paradise last month.
Gudbranson appeared in 55 regular-season games with the Growlers last season, scoring two goals, eight points and 29 penalty minutes.
He recorded two goals in 23 playoff games during the Growlers Kelly Cup Championship run.
