Rogers Hometown Hockey continues today in the capital city, capping off with the live broadcast of an NHL game between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets.
It was a busy day at the Memorial Stadium Dominion on Saturday with hockey fans, former NHL stars and live music.

Host Ron MacLean is in town today, and doesn’t hide his love for the province. He even says one of Don Cherry’s favourite beers is Black Horse.
When speaking of the passion Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have for hockey, MacLean quotes the great Howie Meeker.
He says Meeker once said “I’ve been to war, and I’ve played for the Stanley Cup, but nothing matches the intensity of hockey in Newfoundland. ”
MacLean says there is so much joy, blood and love for the game here, and it’s great to come back.
He also has a long-standing relationship with the legendary Bob Cole.
MacLean says Cole understood the music of what they were presenting and sang the game – something everyone misses. Bob will always be in our head, and there will never be Hockey Night in Canada without bob Cole.
Rogers Hometown Hockey continues today at 1:00 p.m. with another full-day of activities, autograph signings and live music.
