The Public Legal Information Association is hoping to have an office open in Labrador in the not-too-distant future.

PLIAN helps people navigate the legal system. They don’t offer legal advice, but they can help point people in the right direction, and put them in contact with a lawyer if necessary.

Executive Director Kevin O’Shea says Labrador is an area of the province that’s traditionally posed difficulties for those looking for access to the legal system.

He says they’re in the midst of planning to open a new office in Happy Valley-Goose Bay early in the new year.
