A cat, missing for over a year and a half, returned to its home in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s this week as though nothing had happened.
It wasn’t quite the very next day, but according to Sarah Mitchell, her father’s cat Ginger returned home one year, six months and three days after she vanished.
They had spent months putting up posters and watching the SPCA.
Mitchell says her father was in the shed last night when out of nowhere the missing cat came in through its cat door and plopped down in front of him, like any other day.
She says he called her immediately in disbelief late last night, and she had to drop everything and go over to see it for herself.
Mitchell says they had never given up hope, but had resigned themselves to never seeing her again. For her part, Ginger seems none the worse for wear.
