Memorial University’s School of Medicine has a new high-tech tool for those studying anatomy.
The Anatamoge 6.0 virtual cadaver machine is the only one of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
It allows students high definition, hands-on anatomy training, without having to make a single incision.
Obstetrics and Gynaecology resident Chelsea Harris gave VOCM News a look at the new machine, which looks like a stretcher-sized iPhone.
Harris says actual human cadavers have traditionally been used for anatomy training, and are ideal for surgical training. However they come with some difficulties, such as being expensive to keep.
She says the Anatamoge is a great tool to augment learning.
