It’s still too early to tell when Northern Harvest will get their licensing back and return to full production, according to the Premier.

Northern Harvest says all the dead salmon have been removed from cages in Fortune Bay, and the removal was completed on Friday.

Premier Dwight Ball says there are still some discussions they need to have with the industry to prevent a mass-mortality like this from happening again. Ball says they have been going by what the industry is telling government, and they will be monitoring what’s happening from here on out.

The Premier says they’ve learned some lessons in the past on communications, and right now, it’s up to government as the regulator to make sure when the company says it’s done its cleanup, it’s actually done.
