While Halloween only lasts one night of the year, don’t smash those pumpkins come November 1.
The City of St. John’s is once again holding its ‘Pumpkin Walk’ event at Bannerman Park.
Once all the ghosts and ghouls have moved on, the city aims to keep spirits high by calling on everyone with a carved pumpkin to bring it to the park for one last hurrah.
The event has drawn thousands in previous years, with hundreds of grotesque gourds lining paths around the Loop.
Once the event comes to an end, each pumpkin is collected and turned into compost.
Should the event be rained out, it will instead go ahead the following night.
