While Halloween is over and gone, the spirit was strong in Bannerman Park last night for the capital city’s third annual Pumpkin Walk.

Artists of all calibres gathered their gourds for one last hurrah to the season, lining the pathways around the Loop.
While there weren’t as many pumpkins present as in previous years, folks stretched their creative talent to other fruits and vegetables, including turnips, watermelons, and even a bell pepper or two.
Dance crews decked in costumes performed to renditions of Halloween hits, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller, as crowds gathered to cheer them on.
Throughout the event, attendees braved high winds to check out the goings-on with families and pets in tow.
To heat things up, Ignite Circus hosted fiery performances throughout the evening in one of Bannerman’s gazebos, lighting up the night as well as the faces of audience members.
As the night wound to an end, all jack-o’-lanterns—whether squash or root—were gathered to be turned into compost, a promise to prevent the festive veggies from going to waste.
