We often hear of the negative stories surrounding social media and how it can knock people down, but sometimes it can help pick people up.
An 11-year-old boy from Corner Brook had his birthday turned around on Sunday, after his party didn’t go as planned.
His father took to Twitter to ask friends, including the Toronto Maple Leafs to show some love, and wish his son Kade, a die-hard Leafs fan, a happy birthday.
My son Kade had his 11th birthday party last night. None of his invited friends came. That hurt. I’m asking my Twitter friends to show him some love today. If you have a minute, please send him a birthday wish. @Marner93 @91Tavares @MapleLeafs #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/kn0vP1l6z8

His father went back on Twitter later Sunday evening to say they can’t comprehend what happened, and they are amazed by the support.
They thanked everyone who sent Kade a message, and say he’ll never forget his 11th birthday.
We can’t comprehend what has happened today. Kade and the rest of us are just amazed. To EVERYONE who sent Kade a message – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. He is an amazing son and he will never forget this day. @MapleLeafs @Marner93 @91Tavares @NLGrowlers
