The Avalon T’Railways Association says it is their priority to continue advocating ATV safety in the wake of a deadly crash in Harbour Grace on Friday.
A 35-year-old man was killed after he flipped his vehicle on the main highway in the area of Harbour Grace known as the Thicket. Police say two other ATVs were on the road at the time.
President Rick Noseworthy says everyone needs to be aware of the dangers of operating large machines.
He says because ATVs have low pressure tires, they do not handle well on pavement. He emphasizes the importance of always wearing a helmet. Even in side by sides, he says wearing a helmet and seatbelt can save your life.
