The companies vying to build and run the new mental health facility in St. John’s are looking to get all their ducks in a row for their pitches at a networking event in St. John’s today.
The province issued the request for proposals in August and three teams are competing for it. Today they are meeting with local construction companies to plan their proposals at the Construction Association event.

Transportation and Works Minister Steve Crocker addressed the assembly today, saying that the new facility will be locally made to service the local community.
Criticism has been leveled against the proposed facility for being built on a flood plain, but Crocker says those concerns are already being addressed in the planning process.
