The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirms one of its own was arrested for impaired driving over the weekend.
RNC Media Relations Officer James Cadigan says an officer was charged with impaired and refusing the breathalyzer on Friday. He says more details will be released sometime this week.
The charge comes after another RNC officer was charged with assault and causing a disturbance last Thursday while off-duty.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave for the time being.
