Residents of Carbonear and Harbour Grace are remembering a 35-year-old man killed in a tragic accident Friday afternoon.

Matthew Hiscock was one of a number of people traveling on Thicket Road in Harbour Grace on Friday afternoon, when he somehow lost control of the ATV he was operating.

A memorial fund has been created in Hiscock’s name which will help support young athletes by covering the registration costs each year to the Cee Bees Minor Hockey Association.

RCMP and the Chief Medical Examiner’s office are continuing their investigation.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday at 2:30 from the Edward Slade Memorial Chapel at Slade’s Funeral Home in Carbonear.
