We have an update on a story we brought you a month ago about a class action lawsuit about abuse in facilities for children in care.

Many from those facilities were convicted long ago for their crimes, however Lawyers at Morris Martin Moore want to hold those in charge, government, accountable.

Lawyer Lynn Moore is appealing to the public for people who spent time as children in Boys’ and Girls’ youth homes in Whitbourne, Pleasantville, Waterford Bridge Road and Torbay Road to contact the firm. She says some of the survivors were as young as 11 years old.

Moore issued a news release yesterday to let people who used to reside in the facilities in question know that “sexual misconduct” involves many criminal acts.

Moore says they are hearing from far fewer women than men, and that they do not want women to be left behind.
