A young Maple Leafs fan from this province had his wildest birthday wish come true this weekend.
Kade Foster’s story went viral last week after his father took to Twitter asking for birthday wishes for his son after the boy’s party did not go as planned.
The responses came pouring in, and eventually the Toronto Maple Leafs franchise reached out to the family, saying they were planning a surprise for the young fan.
That surprise? A trip for Kade and his family to Toronto to see the team in action. Kade got up close and personal, getting to meet, hang out and take pictures with the team.

A series of tweets from the organization shows Kade and his family getting to meet the team and watching Saturday morning’s practice.
The family was in attendance when the Leafs took on the Philadelphia Flyers last night. The Flyers won 3-2 in shootout.
The Maple Leafs kept the series of surprises coming, as during a stoppage of play in the game Maple Leafs staff and Carlton the Bear, the Leafs mascot, presented Kade with a birthday cake while the whole stadium sang happy birthday.
