Shawn Bateman who lives in Airport Heights, woke up around 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning after he heard some loud bangs. When he went to check out what the sound was, he saw teenagers and adults running from his property.
Bateman-who spent 23 years in the military and served many tours-says there was broken glass all over the ground, lights were torn off the house, the house was egged, mirrors were kicked off a car and someone urinated in the driveway.
Bateman who suffers from PTSD says he was appalled by what he saw and on Remembrance Day of all days.
He says it was terrible because he’s had some close friends die in Afghanistan, some close friends commit suicide upon return, so he holds Remembrance Day pretty close.
Bateman says he’s confident that the vandals will be identified as he handed over audio and video to police, and a lot of finger prints were lifted off the car in the RNC’s investigation.
He is asking if anyone recognizes the people in his home surveillance videos to contact the RNC.
