A ferry that’s been plagued with mechanical problems since coming into service is back in drydock for repairs.
The provincial government says the estimated cost of repairs on the Veteran this time around is about $1-million.
The Veteran went into drydock November 5 for repairs to its thruster and ramps.
The Legionnaire will provide service to the Fogo Island-Change Islands route while the Beaumont Hamel and Flanders will provide service on the Bell Island run.
Annual inspection work to the vessel’s mechanical equipment and general maintenance—including hull cleaning and painting—will be completed at this time.
The work is expected to wrap up in early December.
