The 2020 Canadian Folk Music Award nominations were announced yesterday and musicians from this province are in the mix.
Fortunate Ones are up for “Vocal Group of the Year” while Conway & Nick Earle have both been nominated in the Young Performers category. Earle is a past CFM award winner with blues duo Earle & Coffin.
Jenelle Duval, Danielle Benoit and Stacey Howse have been nominated for Indigenous songwriters of the year for a song they penned for Eastern Owl.
The Alan Doyle-produced Splash N Boots album “You Me and the Sea” has been nominated as Children’s Album of the Year.
The 15th Canadian Folk Music Awards takes place over the weekend of April 3, 2020, in Charlottetown, PEI.
