Two vehicles were extensively damaged following a reported hit-and-run last evening.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Prince Philip Drive and Portugal Cove Road shortly after 8:30 p.m.. Two SUV’s had collided, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Reports from the scene indicate two occupants of one of the vehicles fled from the scene on foot. Two occupants of the second vehicle were assessed by paramedics. The extent of their injuries and whether they were transported to hospital as a result is unknown.

Police officers were seen speaking with witnesses, in an attempt to track down the two individuals who ran.

Traffic was slowed in the area as emergency personnel worked, and as the damaged vehicles were removed.
