Police are appealing to the public for any information or footage after a 90-year-old man was assaulted in a shocking road rage incident yesterday afternoon in Mount Pearl.

Bill Short was pulled over and confronted by a man near the intersection of Topsail Road and Dunn’s Road/ Park Avenue near Mount Pearl Square.

It’s unclear what unfolded or why he was pulled over but his niece Racquel Holwell says he was taken to hospital with injuries. She says he has quite severe facial injuries so she’s unsure how many times he was struck.

Holwell says the largest injury is the one you don’t see which is the shock he must have felt.

New information has come to light, RNC Constable James Cadigan says the suspect is between 30 to 40-years-old, described as tall and slender and was driving an orange sedan with the last three digits of his license plate possibly 8-9-2.

RNC are appealing to public for any dash cam or CCTV footage in the Mount Pearl Square area on Topsail Road, around 12:00-1:00 p.m. yesterday.
